FCCLA LifeSmarts Consumer Knowledge Bowl

FCCLA teams may compete in the FCCLA/LifeSmarts Consumer Knowledge Bowl, with qualifying teams competing live at FCCLA Cluster Meetings and the FCCLA National Leadership Conference in July. Family and Consumer Sciences Knowledge Bowl is a three-level, team competition that challenges students’ knowledge of all aspects of Family and Consumer Sciences.

FCCLA TeamSmarts Challenge

From September through January FCCLA Chapters compete against other FCCLA teams for a $100 cash prize. The winner of the challenge receives a $2500 stipend an invitation to represent FCCLA at the National LifeSmarts Championship in April.


LifeSmarts is a flexible classroom or group activity that teaches teens to be smart and responsible consumers and citizens.  The content and competition questions focus on five key areas of consumer knowledge that teens need to know to function effectively in today's marketplace.
