Officer Candidate Application

If you would like to apply to be a 2018-2019 officer please follow the steps below:


Step 1:  Fill out the application


Review the guidelines of being an officer first.


Complete your application here, the deadline is December 1, 2017.




Step 2:   Submit Supplemental Documents

a) Letter of recommendation

b) Code of Conduct: Print and sign the Code of Conduct. All signatures must be completed.

c) Submit Resume: Use the resume template we have provided to display your achievements. Here is a sample of a completed resume.


Send your supplemental documents to: with subject line "Officer Candidate Application" as an email attachment. (Do not share as Google Doc.)

All documents must be emailed or postmarked by December 1, 2017 for consideration.




Step 3:   Prepare & Study

You will be required to give a one minute speech during the House of Delegates meeting at the Region Conference, on Texas FCCLA: Constructing Leaders. Do not mention yourself or what FCCLA has done for you.


Prepare to take a test at the House of Delegates meeting over FCCLA knowledge. The test will include a wide variety of topics such as general facts about the association, competitive events, different programs, communication and Parliamentary Procedure.


Study the Chapter Handbook or the Officer Handbook for a great resource!




Step 4: Attend the House of Delegates Meeting

Make sure you are registered for your specific region conference and attend the House of Delegates meeting. Give your speech and take the test and you are on your way to becoming an Texas FCCLA officer.



No late or incomplete applications will be accepted.






If you run for an office and are NOT elected, you will be eligible to participate on the Leadership Team. The Leadership Team will meet  August, 11, 2017 before the school year begins for leadership development, paid by the association.


Possible Duties include:

Attend the executive council meeting with officers at the region meeting

Usher at general sessions of region meetings

Help with Leadership workshops at region meetings

Assist in running the FCCLA store at region meetings

Assist with project display oversight

Monitor FCSA and other tests at region meeting

Help check in lead consultants at region meetings

Help line up Competitive event participants at region and state meetings

Assist wherever needed at region meetings

Will be given assignments at the state conference


Who is on the team?

Any regional officer candidate that is not selected to represent the region as an officer at the regional leadership conference.


Name Badge identifying them as Leadership Team

Black slacks/red polo and name tag

Free registration at the region meeting

Introduced on stage as Leadership Team

Pay own expenses for travel to the meeting (travel with local chapter)
