State Service Learning Project
Texas FCCLA will be partnering with the Aberg Center for Literacy to donate children's books and hand-crafted book marks this year. We will also be collecting mentor reading hour logs (one per chapter) that can be documented and sent by email to:
firstname.lastname@example.org by January 25, 2018.
The winner will be recognized at the State Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas for the contest for the most creative book mark and for the most mentor reading hours collected.
Book Mark Rules:
Region I Service Learning
Partnering with English Language Learners schools
Items to be collected:
New or used books ranging from 1st to 8th grade
New school supplies such as crayons, pencils, notebooks, glue, etc.
New or gently used draw string bags
The items will be donated to diverse schools with English Language Learners (ELL's) that are chosen by your Region I officers to support our literacy initiative and help students become better readers.
The collected books and chapters are to be submitted by your FCCLA chapters.

Region III has partnered with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children.
Bring the following donation items to the Region III Conference:
-Teddy bears/stuffed animals (homemade is great)
-Gently used prom dresses
-Gently used jewelry for prom

Region IV Service Learning
Family Service Center's mission is to promote he mental health and wellbeing of individuals and families through counseling, education and prevention.
To collect children's books (appropriate for ages 0-3 years of age) to be given to families participating in parenting workshops at FSC. Reading at home promotes healthier family relationships and future success in school.
Please bring book donations to the Region IV Conference. Chapters collecting the most books will receive recognition during the second general session.
