Voting Delegate Information

What is a voting delegate?

Each chapter of Texas FCCLA must select one student to represent their chapter as the voting delegate at the region and state conferences. Voting delegates have an integral role in the leadership of Texas FCCLA. Voting delegates will review the financial information of the association, vote on proposed bylaw amendments, and select the region’s officers for the next school year. It is important to have a voting delegate from each chapter. Please note that other duties, including STAR and Proficiency Events, should take precedence.

Who is eligible to be a voting delegate?

Any affiliated chapter member may represent their chapter as a voting delegate except any current region/state officer or region/state officer candidate.

How do I sign up as my chapter’s voting delegate?

Your advisor must designate the chapter’s voting delegate on the chapter’s conference registration. If you signed up as your chapter’s voting delegate and end up not being able to attend, your advisor may substitute another chapter member in your place during voting delegate check-in.

Where do I have to be as a voting delegate?

There are two important meetings for voting delegates to attend during the regional conference. The first is an Officer Candidate Meet & Greet on Friday at 10:30 a.m. where you will be able to interact with the officer candidates in an informal setting. The second is the House of Delegates meeting where you will check in at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Name badges and official dress are required for check in. Please check the conference schedule/conference app for locations.

For the state conference, voting delegates must attend the Saturday General Session.
